Guna Shekar, a supremely talented filmmaker who makes films with stunning visuals and huge budgets, is coming with the stunning romantic saga Shaakuntalam on the big screen after a long time. Starring Samantha in the titular role, the film has Malayalam actor Dev Mohan in Dushyant character.

Produced by Neelima Guna and presented by ace producer Dilraju, the film currently at the post-production stage. The film has already reached everyone’s heart and mind with the first look posters. Now the makers delighted the audience with release date announcement.

The much awaited Shaakuntalam which is based on internationally acclaimed Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play ‘Abhijnana Shakuntalam’ is all set to release on February 17th, 2023 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. The film will be released in 3D so that audiences can experience the Gunasekhar visual magic.

This film is eagerly anticipated from the moment it was announced and now everyone is waiting to witness ethreal beauty Samantha. Makers will soon kickstart the promotions in a grand way.

The film has Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Gautami, Aditi Balan, and Ananya Nagalla in pivotal roles. The film is bankrolled under Gunaa Teamworks in collaboration with Sri Venkateswara Creations. Melody Brahma Manisharma is scoring music for the film. Recently the film re-recording was done at Budapest, Hungary with Symphony Orchestra of Hungary and it will be one of the major highlights.

Shaakuntalam is written and directed by Gunasekhar. Sai Madhav Burra penned the dialogues for the film. Sekhar V Joseph is the cinematographer, and Prawin Pudi is the editor.
