One of the most awaited Telugu films of the year, Varudu Kaavalenu, is all set to hit theatres on October 29. Starring Naga Shaurya, Ritu Varma in the lead roles, the family entertainer marks the directorial debut of Lakshmi Sowjanya. The film is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments, the leading banner associated with hit films like Jersey, Premam, Bheeshma and the upcoming Pawan Kalyan, Rana Daggubati multi-starrer Bheemla Nayak. The beautiful trailer, memorable songs by Thaman and Vishal Chandrasekhar, the terrific chemistry between Naga Shaurya and Ritu Varma have ensured good hype for the film ahead of its release.

A grand pre-release event of Varudu Kaavalenu was held at Shilpakala Vedika, Hyderabad, on Wednesday amid the presence of the cast and crew. Icon Staar Allu Arjun and blockbuster filmmaker Trivikram were chief guests at the event that was high on energy and emotions. Several renditions and dance performances set to the songs from the film entertained crowds and the guests thoroughly. The actors and technicians, expressing confidence about the film’s result, were in a joyous mood as they took to the stage.

Director Lakshmi Sowjanya shared, “I thank China Babu garu (producer S Radha Krishna) for this opportunity. He’s a man who lives up to his words and values people. My parents may have given birth to me, but I’ll always be thankful to him for giving me such a strong foundation for my career. Naga Vamsi (garu) is extremely good at understanding the needs of the team and solves any problem amicably. Naga Shaurya is a thorough gentleman and a professional and was a delight to work with. Ritu Varma has always selected good scripts and she had become a family member to all of us as we made the film.”

“This film wouldn’t have been possible without the contributions of Nadhiya, Murali Sharma, dialogue writer Ganesh Ravuri and cinematographer Vamsi Patchipulusu. I wholeheartedly convey my gratitude to my direction team, screenplay writer Sharath. Allu Arjun is a person whom I respect since Vedam, a film I worked on. He always says ‘I can’ as an actor in any given situation and that’s the reason he’s an ‘Icon Staar’ today. Thank you Trivikram (garu) for blessing us and our team with your presence at the event.”

Actress Ritu Varma said, “I feel grateful to Sithara Entertainments for placing so much confidence in me to pull off this role. I hope to see our director Lakshmi Sowjanya’s career start on a successful note. I couldn’t have imagined anyone for the role of Aakash except for Shaurya and he’s such a fantastic performer and I wish to work with him again. It’s been a special experience to share screen-space with Nadhiya (garu). The USP of Varudu Kaavalenu is its freshness. The cinematographer, music directors, the direction and production teams are the backbone of the film. Allu Arjun is one of my most favourite people in the industry and has supported me since the beginning and I’m glad he made time for this event.”

Actor Naga Shaurya, beaming with confidence, stated, “Before I talk about anything else, let me assure everyone that the film is a sure-shot hit. I say it with confidence that everyone will like it. The director has made a beautiful film and is sure to win her many laurels after it releases on October 29. The cinematographer Vamsi, the director and my costume designer Harsha have presented me very well. Ritu Varma has never looked more beautiful in her career and I think we make for a great on-screen pair. The characters and performances of Nadhiya (garu) and Murali Sharma (garu) are the lifelines of the film. I feel honoured to be in the company of Trivikram garu and Allu Arjun garu at the event, they have been an inspiration for an entire generation and are entertaining people for so many years now.”

Director Trivikram added, “The journey of Haarika and Haasine Creations started with Allu Arjun’s Julayi. As someone who considers this banner my own, I thank Allu Arjun for being part of the event. I have watched the film recently and the performances of the cast and crew will stay with you long after you watch it. The film has a story that’s very identifiable and close to our hearts. Lakshmi Sowjanya has got her story right and cast her actors quite aptly. This is a film that China Babu (garu) is extremely fond of and the team has also responded to him with the same amount of love. Vishal Chandrasekhar has done a wonderful job with the music.”

Icon Staar Allu Arjun said, “Even my daughter is dancing to the tune of Digu Digu Naga at home, that’s the popularity of the film’s music. I always like self-made people who have created a mark in the industry and Naga Shaurya is certainly one of them. He isn’t only a good person but also brings innocence, depth to his performances that I enjoy watching. I have a soft corner for Ritu Varma because she’s a Telugu girl and followed her work since the very beginning. I truly like the dignity with the way she carries herself both off and on-screen. I enjoyed the trailer and it shows the effort that the actors and technicians have put into the film.”

“It’s good to see a female director like Lakshmi Sowjanya being launched in the industry. It’s important that women be made an integral part of the filmmaking process across all departments and I wholeheartedly welcome her as a director. I am truly amazed by the rapport and the goodwill that two composers like Vishal Chandrasekhar and Thaman have for each other. The vibe of this event largely reminds me of Alaa Vaikunthapurramulo. I treat this as a home banner (apart from Geetha Arts) and the people here, China Babu (garu) and Vamsi as my own. This is a crucial phase for the industry and I hope to see Telugu cinema and all the other industries in the country bring audiences to theatres and bounce back with a bang.”

Producers S Radha Krishna, S Naga Vamsi, editor Navin Nooli, cinematographer Vamsi Patchipulusu, music directors Thaman, Vishal Chandrasekhar, lyricists Rambabu, Raghuram, Priyanka, actors Praveen, Nadhiya, dialogue writer Ganesh Ravuri and screenplay writer Sharath were also part of the event and stated their happiness in associating with Varudu Kaavalenu. Each of the cast and crew members at the event was later presented with gifts according to their roles in the film and their personal tastes. Filmmaker Trivikram had also felicitated editor Navin Nooli and producer S Naga Vamsi, congratulating them for their national-award wins for Jersey.
