– Producer Bunny Vas social media post sparks discussion

Blockbuster producer Bunny Vas reacted to the current developments in the film industry through a social media post. He said there is no point in arguing over how to divide the already shrinking revenues without first addressing the industry’s core problems. According to him, star heroes should complete films much faster, and the current 27-day OTT release window should be extended. He also stressed that filmmakers must focus on producing strong content that genuinely interests audiences, as only then will people be encouraged to return to theatres.

Bunny Vas expressed concern that the revenue of big-budget films has fallen by nearly half, while the earnings of small films have dropped to almost a quarter of what they once were. He said the industry is celebrating collections that are actually driven by increased ticket prices and rising costs, which ultimately place an extra burden on audiences. He added that this situation is hurting not only producers but also single-screen exhibitors. He also suggested that food and beverage prices at theatres should be kept under control. Bunny Vas questioned the benefit of fighting over reduced revenues while ignoring the fundamental issues affecting the industry.
