This Diwali, Pratyusha Support, the charitable trust founded by actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, celebrated its annual Light of Joy event — a heartfelt Diwali gathering that brought together over 250 children from various NGOs across Hyderabad for an evening filled with warmth, joy, and gratitude.
What began years ago as a small effort to make the festive season brighter for underprivileged children has now grown into one of Pratyusha Support’s most cherished annual traditions. This year, marking the NGO’s 11th year and having crossed a decade of purpose, Light of Joy 2025 was celebrated on a larger scale — uniting children from multiple organizations, volunteers, and well-wishers under one roof.
The evening radiated the true spirit of Diwali — togetherness and thankfulness. The highlight of the celebration was a “Gratitude Activity”, where every child wrote down one thing they were thankful for. As the sun set, hundreds of diyas were lit, symbolizing hope, love, and new beginnings.
Founder Samantha Ruth Prabhu and co-founder Padma Shri Dr. Manjula Anagani, joined children through the evening, interacting with them and sharing moments of laughter and reflection. The celebration also featured engaging games and activities curated by it’s volunteers and event partners, filling the space with energy and cheer.
Speaking about the event, Seshanka Binesh, Executive Director, Pratyusha Support, said, “Every year, this event reminds us why we started what we did. Seeing hundreds of children from orphanage homes come together, smiling, sharing what they’re thankful for and cheering their hearts out, — truly captures the essence of Diwali festivities. For us, this event is not just a celebration with kids; it is a reminder of gratitude, compassion, and the joy of giving.”
Pratyusha Support’s growing network of volunteers played a key role in making the event successful, ensuring that every child is left not just with gifts, but with memories of love and belonging.
Founded with a vision to extend medical and emotional support to underprivileged women and children, Pratyusha Support continues to stand as a beacon of compassion. Under the leadership of Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Dr. Manjula Anagani, and Seshanka Binesh, the NGO has, over the past decade, supported hundreds of kids suffering from critical illness. Conducting Vaccination drives, health and awareness drives, supplying medication and nutrition supplements to orphan homes, initiating outreach programs for communities in need have been the core activities of Pratyusha Support.
