National dance festivals are off to a good start

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mr Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka expressed happiness that the Telangana Sangeet Natak Akademi, which is recognized for its unique programmes, organized festivals at the national level and spread the fame of Telangana. The National Dance Festival under the auspices of Telangana Sangeet Natak Akademi started grandly at Ravindra Bharati on Monday. Talented artistes from different states participated in this festival organized in the name of Ardhanariswaram. Mr Mallu Bhatti, who was the chief guest, lighting of the Jyoti and started the festivities. He said that to respect artists is to encourage preservation of cultural traditions. Me Jupalli Krishna Rao, Minister of Culture and Tourism, who was the special guest, said that similar dance and drama festivals should be held in the districts as well. He expressed hope that these festivals will help Telangana artistes to get recognition at the national level. She said that as part of the 100 days of public governance celebrations, a national level dance festival has been launched in a most glorious manner as per the orders of Chief Minister Mr Revanth Reddy. She explained that three-day dance festivals have been organized with the concept of Ardhanareeswaram for the first time at the national level while organizing various programmes.
The Telangana award winners recently announced by Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi are Smt Voleti Rangamani (service to various dance arts), Smt Rajeshwari Sainath (Bharat dance), Sri Durishetti Ramaiah (Folk – Kaddi), Sri D. Srinivas (Music – Veena), Ustad Bismillah Khan Youth Award winners Smt Satvika Penna (Andhra Natyam), Mr Peri Thyagaraju (Music – Violin) and Mr Ajay Srinivas Chakraborty (Kuchipudi) were felicitated. Later, Hyderabad young artists Mr Surendranath Dr. Bijina couple completed the Arthanariswaram with “Dwayam” Kuchipudi dance. New Delhi artist Mr Waseem Raja’s Kuchipudi-style “Samarpanam” exuded spirituality. Finally Hyderabad artistes Ayana Manojna Balaraju troupe performed “Adharva” and enchanted. Ardhanariswaram blindfolded while expressing the uniqueness of nature and the equality of men and women. Commentator Muralikrishna announced that Mumbai artistes Smt Pavitra Bhatt, Smt Aparna Shastri “Ekam Devayam”, Dr Vasant Kiran “Sabhapati” from Bangalore and Vaishnavi Sainath Nritya Kadambam Bharata from Hyderabad will perform on the evening of the second day, 23rd. For three days, students are encouraged to write a review essay about the respective shows and give suitable prizes.
