The Indywood International AI Cinefest (IIAC), a groundbreaking global platform dedicated to
showcasing AI-driven cinema, has officially opened its doors to filmmakers worldwide. Since
opening submissions on November 1, 2025, the festival has received an impressive wave of
innovative entries from creators pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence in filmmaking.
Building on the acclaimed legacy of ALIFF – All Lights Indywood Film Festival, one of India’s
most prominent film festivals, IIAC represents a bold new chapter in celebrating how artificial
intelligence is revolutionizing the art of storytelling. The festival honors filmmakers who harness
AI to create extraordinary narratives and visuals, seamlessly blending human creativity with
cutting-edge technological advancement.
The Indywood International AI Cinefest welcomes short films (up to 30 minutes) that
incorporate at least 70% AI in their production process—whether in pre-production, production,
or post-production stages. Filmmakers from across the globe are invited to showcase how AI is
expanding creative horizons, accelerating production, and unlocking new possibilities in visual
storytelling.
Sir Sohan Roy, Founder Director – Indywood stated that “IIAC is more than a film festival—it’s
a movement to position India as a key player at the intersection of cinema and advanced
technologies. The submissions we’ve received so far demonstrate the incredible potential of AI to
transform storytelling while preserving the essential human vision at the heart of every great
film.” Sir Sohan Roy is also an Oscar selected Hollywood Film Director and Founder Chairman
& CEO of Aries group of Companies, a largest conglomerate of 81 companies with businesses in
30 countries.
Through IIAC, Indywood seeks to build an international community of AI-driven storytellers,
support experimentation and artistic innovation, and create a collaborative space where cinema
and technology converge to drive creativity and growth.
Selected films will be announced on the festival’s official website and media platforms, with all
chosen works featured in the official screening program. The festival features 25 award
categories recognizing excellence across various aspects of AI filmmaking, including
opportunities to collaborate with future Indywood projects for winning films. With global
participation from filmmakers worldwide, entries will undergo comprehensive evaluation based
on script quality, creative use of AI, visual and sound design, and overall artistic integrity. The
festival will culminate in an official screening event followed by an awards ceremony, along with

panel discussions and networking sessions designed to foster dialogue and innovation in
AI-based filmmaking
The festival is open to films completed after January 1, 2023, including works that have been
screened at other festivals, broadcast on television, or released on digital platforms. Each
filmmaker may submit up to two entries through February 28, 2026.
With the submission window open until February 28, 2026, the festival organizers are looking
forward to receiving more exciting entries from visionary filmmakers ready to explore the
frontier of AI-powered cinema.
