‘Devara’ is a big budget film starring Man of Masses in the title role. Directed by Koratala Siva. Another Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is playing a key role in this movie, which stars Janhvi Kapoor as the heroine. * The release date of the movie ‘Devara’ is nearing. You can imagine the excitement and nervousness of waiting for the result after writing the exam. Every movie is pre-release.
* The story of ‘Devara’ movie is all fictional. Nowhere is it based on real events.
* Too much courage for a man is also not correct. That would be foolishness. We have a fear in us without knowing it. The story of ‘God’ is to say to respect it. It is wrong to want to be fearless. Law of land is one thing. Everyone should follow it. That is fear. For example, we all stop when the traffic light is red. Why should you stop? But we have a little fear of stopping. That’s why we stop. Such fear is very necessary for man.. It is even good. That’s what I said in the movie ‘Devara’. Accountability is also a fear. Having such fear makes us check our work and get good results.
* Journey with NTR is always special for me. When discussing any matter with him, whether it is good or not, he does not answer diplomatically. They express their feelings openly. The way he reacted when he said the ‘Devara’ line, we decided to go to the next level.
* We took 6 months to take the movie ‘Devara’ to the sets. How to shoot on the sea.. There are lighting variations. We studied how to create the ocean. That’s why we took time. Because no one is shooting like this, we don’t have anyone to advise us. That’s why it took time.
* We cannot say enough about our technicians. Very talented. We can go without preparation and execute. Not so Hollywood Technicians. If they are not prepared, they will be scared. Every scene is rehearsed. It is our habit to work in the same last minute tension. If we give them preparation time like Hollywood technicians… they will still do miracles.
* After the release of the movie ‘Acharya’, it did not perform as expected. But there was no pressure on it. I have prepared well for this film. Within 20 days of Acharya’s release, I started working on the motion poster of Devara.
* Can such a big story be told within three hours during the second schedule of ‘Devara’! We all thought. Because the narration is 4 hours long. On paper it clocks in at 6-7 hours. The second schedule only realized that this story cannot be told in three hours. We went in reverse with two parts. But Kudarada was known. So we decided to do it in two parts. She did this not for business or sensation. A story that cannot be told in one part should be told in two parts.
*Luckily top technicians like Sabu Shiril, Ratnavelu, Srikar Prasad, Anirudh were roped in for the movie ‘Devara’. No one needs to be spoon fed. That is why they came to work with their ideas. All are good technicians and gave good inputs.
* We put as much effort as possible till the last minute for Team Andandra NTRgari. Is it a matter of the result? It is never in our hands.
* ‘Devara’.. means the story revolves around NTR’s character. He is the hero.. then how can I think of someone other than NTR in that role. While writing the story, I thought of NTR for both the characters. God’s Son Vara.. The role is beyond him. Devara is a movie that will be completed in two parts.
* I always have a good relationship with Chiranjeevi. After Acharya, he was the first person who sent a message that this time you will hit harder. Such is the difference between me and him.
* Janhvi Kapoor is Sridevi’s daughter but.. she learned every thing very carefully and did it very well. In the movie Devara, I tried to convey that there should be fear in man. I saw that fear in Jhanvi. A week or ten days before, she would ask me for the scene paper and come to the sets for practice. On the first day of shooting, when the scene she acted in, Tarakgaru showed his hand saying it was fantastic.
* When I saw Saif Ali Khan’s movie Omkara, I felt that he was suitable for the role of Bhaira. But I was afraid that he would have a northern look. It looks like a rooted film.. Will the look be set for me! Saif also expressed doubt. But I said let’s do a look test and sent a sketch. He didn’t believe it before. They used to come to the location an hour before the time of shooting and prepare. When I finally saw the output he was exactly what I thought Bhaira would look like.
* I am hundred percent happy with Anirudh’s music. When I planned to release Fear Song, I thought what kind of music I would give. But when he heard my concept, he caught himself and gave a wonderful song. Then she felt that she was in the sink. We are planning to release the Ayadupuja song soon.
