With the success of his blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, Icon Star Allu Arjun has been spreading his charm all over. Allu Arjun’s achievements are truly unstoppable.
Whether it’s representing India as Grand Marshall at the annual Indian Day Parade in New York, or winning the best actor (Telugu) award at SIIMA for Pushpa: The Rise, or winning the Filmfare award south for Best actor for Pushpa: The Rise. He was awarded the title of Indian Of The Year, which added another feather to his hat.
Allu Arjun was named the CNN-News18 Indian of the Year in the entertainment category on Wednesday for his rousing performance in the multilingual Pushpa: The Rise. After 20 years in the film industry, this was the first award for the South Indian actor from the north. Also Allu Arjun became the first south Indian actor to win this prestigious award.
Smriti Irani garu, Union Minister for Women and Child Development, presented the award to Allu Arjun in Delhi. While accepting the award, the actor was dressed entirely in black, demonstrating his distinct sense of style.
Accepting the award, Arjun gave a new twist to a famous dialogue from Pushpa, “Indian cinema, India kabhi jhukega nahin (Indian cinema, India will never bow down).”
He added: “I’ve been working in the film industry for 20 years now. I’ve received many awards in the south, this is the first time I’m ever receiving an award from the north so it’s very special for me,” Arjun said, drawing whistles and applause from the audience.
Since the movie was released during the pandemic, Allu Arjun dedicated the award to “COVID warriors” such as doctors, nurses, healthcare workers and volunteers.
